As we gear up for Rare Disease Day 2025, the rare disease community has an extraordinary opportunity to share its stories with the world. EURORDIS-Rare Diseases Europe—a non-profit alliance representing over 1,000 rare disease patient organizations from 75 countries—has launched this year’s EURORDIS Photo Award, and we’re excited to invite the CLA community to participate.
This international photo contest is not just a competition; it’s a celebration of resilience, inspiration, and the lived experiences of people in the rare disease community. The EURORDIS Photo Award allows individuals, families, and advocates to raise awareness through the power of imagery, offering a platform to visually share the journey of living with a rare disease.
Why Participate?
Every year, the contest draws breath-taking and impactful submissions from across the globe. By entering, you contribute to a collective effort to highlight the strength and humanity of those living with rare diseases, like Complex Lymphatic Anomalies (CLAs).
Submissions will be judged by world-renowned photojournalist Marcus Bleasdale, and the shortlisted photos will be open to public voting. This unique process ensures that your story can reach an even wider audience, inspiring change and fostering understanding.

- Winners Announced: 24 February 2025, during the EURORDIS Black Pearl Awards Ceremony
How to Enter
The contest is open to individuals of all nationalities, ages, and rare diseases. To participate:
- Submit your photo online via the official EURORDIS Photo Award portal.
- Ensure that your submission includes the signed Terms, Conditions and Intellectual Property Rights Regulations and EURORDIS Consent Form for all individuals featured in your photo. These forms can be uploaded during submission or emailed to events@eurordis.org within one week of your entry.
Prizes and Recognition
The three photos with the most votes will receive exciting prizes, and all entries will contribute to a powerful visual narrative that connects and uplifts the rare disease community.
