Vascular Anomalies Center - University Hospital in Uppsala
The Team provides diagnostic as well as therapeutic interventions for lymphatic disease.
Diagnostic procedures performed are:
- Nodal lymphangiography with lipiodol
- Dynamic contrast enhanced MR lymphangiography
- Lymphscintigraphy and SPECT.
- Fluorescence imaging with indocyanine green
Therapeutic procedures performed include:
- Embolization of lymphatic leaks e.g. in plastic bronchitis, central conducting lymphatic anomalies (CCLA), protein loosing enteropathy in children with FONTAN circulation, iatrogenic lymphatic leaks
- Surgical peripheral lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA) in lymphedema and complex lymphatic anomalies
- Surgical re-implantation of the thoracic duct.
- Pharmacological treatments with e.g. Rapamune, Trametinib (MEK inhibitor), Thalidomide
A comprehensive center of excellence within the Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LEARN).
