New Insights into Vascular Malformation Treatments

Vascular malformations, resulting from anomalies in angiogenesis, are challenging to treat with traditional methods like sclerotherapy and surgery. However, research shows promise in repurposing anticancer drugs to target the genetic pathways driving these conditions, such as PI3K-AKT-mTOR and RAS-MAPK-ERK.

This review explores:

  • The use of molecular inhibitors for slow- and fast-flow malformations
  • Prenatal treatment possibilities
  • Managing associated coagulopathies
